Police arrested a man in his 30s who ran away after hitting and killing a two-wheeler while driving under the influence.
Jeonju Wansan Police Station in North Jeolla Province said Wednesday that it has arrested A on charges of fleeing the country under the Specific Crimes-weighted Punishment Law.
A is suspected of running away after hitting a 10-year-old motorcycle driver, B, with his Porsche on a road in Hyoja-dong, Wansan-gu, Jeonju, at around 11 p.m. on the 26th of last month.
The accident seriously injured B’s head and back, and he was taken to a nearby hospital, but eventually died.
Based on a vehicle abandoned at the scene of the accident, the police called in driver A the following day to investigate the accident.
A reportedly got out of the car right after the accident, checked B’s condition, then abandoned the car and ran away from the scene.
The police applied the “withmark” formula, which comprehensively considers the amount of alcohol consumed and physical characteristics, and confirmed that A’s blood alcohol concentration at the time of the accident was intoxicated equivalent to revocation of his license.
The police confiscated the vehicle in the accident, considering that A had a history of being punished for drunk driving in the past. 비아그라구매
A police official said, “We arrested the suspect in light of the fact that he ran away without any special relief measures even after confirming that the victim was seriously injured. We will continue to take strict measures against habitual drunk drivers.”
